$325 Initial Comprehensive Consult
This consult includes a comprehensive assessment of both parent and child health. We will review pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period, including birth weight, subsequent weights, and any health problems along the way. I will conduct a complete examination of baby, observing for any problems and reviewing findings and possible solutions with you. I will observe a breastfeeding session and adjust latch technique as needed. We will collaborate on a care plan tailored to your family's needs and goals. This consult usually runs 2-3 hours. Text/email follow up is included for the following year. Twin consults incur an additional $125 fee due to the increased time needed for two thorough evaluations and plans.
$325 One to One Breastfeeding Class
An alternative to large group breastfeeding preparation classes, this consult takes place in your home, on your schedule, respecting your comfort and privacy. If you are preparing to breastfeed for the first time or are not sure if breastfeeding is for you, this consult is perfect for you and your family.
$325 Prenatal Assessment and Care Plan for Feeding
This consult is intended for parents who are about to have their first baby or who have had previous difficulty with breastfeeding and want to have a customized action plan for the early days of feeding. Families who have experienced low supply or slow gain with a previous baby may find this helps to set their mind at ease and build confidence as they prepare to welcome their new child. We will strategize together on how to overcome the challenges of the early postpartum days and weeks. You will receive a written plan of action and unlimited text support for the following year.
$325 Weight Gain Problem Consult (slow gain, not gaining, or losing weight)
If your baby is moving down on growth percentiles or not growing as expected, this consult is for you. This consult offers the opportunity for in-depth discussion about feeding, oral aversion, or dysphagia. We can examine baby's weight gain trend, review breastfeeding management for low supply or IGT (insufficient glandular tissue), and consider other potential mechanical reasons for poor milk transfer. We can also review solid food readiness and strategies to encourage better eating and improved weight gain. You will receive a written plan of action and unlimited text support for the following year. 2 hours typical.
$325 Oversupply or Too Much Milk Consult
Oversupply only sounds like "a good problem" if you haven't experienced it. Babies facing substantial oversupply can be extremely uncomfortable, vomiting large quantities of milk, arching and exceptionally gassy. They often have voluminous, frequent green bowel movements that irritate their skin and cause an angry red diaper rash. Parents producing too much milk may feel painfully engorged or face frequent clogged ducts or mastitis and its complications. Fortunately, it is possible to tame your supply and reach a balance so that you and your baby can breastfeed in comfort. We will fashion a plan for you and follow up with text and email support to see it through. You will receive a written plan of action and unlimited text support for the following year. 2 hours typical.
$275 Comprehensive Follow Up
This follow-up consult allows us the opportunity to evaluate progress on weight gain, latch challenges, and myriad other concerns. Sometimes complex or difficult situations benefit from more than one visit, especially when the infant is undergoing bodywork or frenectomy. As their body changes and grows, so does our plan. If you are having persistent pain or have new concerns, let's see each other again. 2 hours typical.
$325 Back to Work Preparation
Families preparing to return to work often feel overwhelmed with questions: What bottle should we use? What about nipple confusion? Does my pump flange fit? How often and for how long should I pump? What are the laws about pumping? How much milk will my baby need? How long is the milk good? We will go through these questions and any others you have, fit you for the right size flange, review strategies for maximizing milk production, and talk about how to store some milk in advance of your first day of work. You will receive a written plan of action and unlimited text support for the following year. 2 hours typical.
